City of Quinte West
The City of Quinte West is a key funder of the Quinte West Youth Centre, and also provides the youth centre with a home at 2 Wooler Road, a City-owned building. The Quinte West Youth Centre is the City’s primary provider of youth services (reference: Parks and Recreation Master Plan).
united way - hastings & prince edward
The United Way provides key operating support to QWYC, as well as valued mentorship and learning support. In addition, the United Way has supported our work to bring our bylaws into compliance with the Ontario Nonprofit Corporations Act, and the development of our new strategic plan (in process). Participation in United Way’s Day of Caring has also made a huge difference, through the contributions of amazing volunteers!
Food for learning
Through the Hastings & Prince Edward Learning Foundation, QWYC is grateful to be part of the Food for Learning program. This program allows us to provide fresh fruits and vegetables, and many other healthy and nutritious meals and snacks to all youth, daily.
Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation
The Kay Stafford Fund, run through the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, provides foundational support to our “What’s Cooking” program, enabling us to teach cooking skills – from menu planning to food preparation – and to purchase healthy foods for our daily snacks and meals.
Kawartha Financial Services
The valued support we receive from Kawartha Financial Services has enriched our Rainbow Rising peer-support program, allowing for field trips for youth, guest speakers, and facilitator fees.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart
Summer programming is that much more fun and exciting thanks to Canadian Tire Jumpstart! Support for program leaders, and for equipment, comes through Jumpstart. This year, we have been able to dedicate staff time to developing programming in sports, arts, and gardening. We have also been able to purchase new gear for basketball, volleyball, baseball, football, rugby, pickleball, and more!
Trenval
Many, many space improvements were made in 2026 thanks to Trenval’s support. This has included storage solutions including new bookshelves, a new cozy corner, relocating and improving our free clothes closet, a toolkit and ladder so we can make our own repairs, and renovating and making usable again the downstairs washroom. Not only that, but also an air hockey / ping pong table!!
Canada Summer Jobs
This invaluable program supports 3 summer Child and Youth Worker staff positions in 2026, enabling a focused program in three areas: sports, arts, and gardening.
John M. & Bernice Parrott Foundation
The Youth Centre has been incredibly honoured by the support of the John M. & Bernice Parrott Foundation, which is making our dream possible of transforming one of our multi-purpose rooms into an Arts Hub. This will provide opportunities for youth to learn, create, explore, produce, and present in music, visual arts, media arts, theatre, and much more!
Royal Bank
The amazing staff of the downton Trenton branch of RBC have supported the youth centre by volunteering to do improvement projects here, and have applied for and presented a Community Grant!
